So a "Virginia ham" never really gets cooked...


it gets salted and smoked etc and left to cure for months and basically you eat it just like that, no cooking. Furthermore, you just eat little strips of it at a time, eg, infamously on biscuits, it would be way too salty to eat a plate of it.

So, that's why I was kinda confused, I would think any quality food store has a decent "cooked country ham" and some make a big deal out of it, get your order in type stuff at this time of the year even something like honey baked ham.
