It sounds like you've bought into the Celtics mythology. Bird and Russell
were great players, but top-5 all-time is a bit much. Russell's individual case has to rest on defense and rebounds, because you can't compare anything to do with offense and have him on top of Chamberlain. He was a great player who was fortunate enough to play on teams that were loaded in comparison to others of the day.
Bird was a great all-around player who could fill up the box score in pretty much all categories. However, in what way was he better than Oscar Robertson?
(I'd ask the same question with Johnson in comparison to Robertson.)
