I believe there are three factors in watching Tech games over the computer.

First, the computer needs to be pretty good, i.e., speedy microprocessor. Second, the speed of the download from the ISP is highly important. I'm maxed out in Forest, VA with Verizon DSL (7 Mbps), and I still get buffering sometimes. I'm told for a single person/single household, 15 Mbps is sufficient, anything more probably is not necessary, although I'd opt for 25 if I could. (With cable, 25-50 Mbps is widely available, and even more!) And third, the number of people watching simultaneously likely has some influence on the stream quality. I've noticed in watching Tech games, the later in the game, especially if it's well in hand, buffering is mostly gone. For example, in watching the Marshall football game, I had buffering early in the game. By the fourth quarter, none. I figure most watching early had dropped off.

I would change ISPs in a heartbeat (can't imagine how good 50 Mbps would be) except for the e-mail address change (I have a "XXX.verizon.net" address). In the early days of the Internet, there were services that provided a "bounce" from previous address to new address. I can't seem to find any of those now. Of course, with "g-mail" or similar addresses, that's not a real concern.
