but if we can't attract more than a few thousand for a Saturday game when there were over 50,000 people in town (and most had to pay for a hotel room Friday night so sticking around for a 1pm tipoff isn't a stretch), and tickets are that cheap, it is just proving the point there isn't demand.

I actually think we are kind of saying the same thing. There is demand for weekend ACC games but not the other games. So if you made the whole schedule a la carte, the weekend ACC games would sellout and few people would buy the other games, resulting in far less ticket revenue.
