I worked with a woman during her transition and she went waaaaay overboard on the girly things — extra long nails, lotsa makeup, etc. Made it easy for many to clock her because the juxtaposition was so large and she didn’t just blend in. When she hit that out of her system and toned down, though, she got much more lifelike, so to speak.
