and my 'fresh turkey' was frozen solid when I tried to put it in the brine

Mrs vt90 'How can it be frozen? I bought it in the refrigerated section and put it straight in our refrigerator.'

vt90 shakes his head. My own fault. I should have checked yesterday. For now, the bird is bathing in cool water and will only brine for about 14 hours. Time for a beer.
