U23 : Bad loss in a winnable match. Hopefully the transition to back to folkstyle is fast. Fortunately / unfortunately DMF absence had no effect on Mizzou dual. 125 no video, 133 no video. 141 only a minute of video , but not a good indicator of where MM stands as Eiremann is likely a finalist contender. 149 Blees looked really big and gave another top dog a great battle and looked tough doing it . Would be nice to see him win a couple matches as an underdog before NCAAs to give him some credibility as a potential AA . 157 BC is my favorite VT wrestler. Always 110 % effort. Just brings it against everybody. Really rooting for BC. Hopefully Mekhi stays at 165 which is a another debatable topic as of today. 165 Flynn doesn't have results/accolades/rankings and always seems to fall a little short against higher ranked opponents ( kinda like Blees ) , but Flynn is crafty and under rated . That said Mekhi got flustered and maybe looked a little small . But wow is he fast like we already knew. Unfortunately the expectations have been set so high we expect him to blow out a Flynn. I'll put my money on next time he wrestles more controlled and does.174 Hughes wrestled great , how he broke that cradle I'll never know. 184 ZZ beat a very good wrestler very easily. He's a real dependable consistent stanchion to build a team around. 197 unfortunately for Sleigh we're all used to Haught there. Not fair at all. 285 This match really hurt to lose as Borst put out a great effort for 7 minutes and made one mental mistake with 10 seconds left. As a side note there were a few questionable calls as usual but I don't think the refs were as bad as some posters. Strange dual as we seemed to wrestle very hard but made some costly mental mistakes. Overall IMO Mizzou is just a little better than us at a few more weight classes despite the lopsided score. That said hopefully the NW dual turns our so far disappointing weekend around
