On a more serious note, I'm a guy and my first reaction was "yeah you are right" about guys generally get screwed during a divorce proceeding. Then I thought to myself "Wait a second, how many of the divorces are due to the behavior of the guy/mistake made by the guy?" I guess I am reminded of a running joke that I had with my female friends in HS and VT. The joke went something like this; the reason all males are either pigs or dogs is because they were born with 3 "brains" and they have trouble deciding which one to listen to at any given minute. Any time 1 would say it, I would usually reply with a "Oink oink baby!"

Then while at VT I also participating in several social groups that went around and gave different peer presentations on sexual assault, rape, and abuse among college students. I don't know the recent figures, but I think men still have a higher percentage of being the perpetrator than women in a heterosexual relationship.

So while the stereotype suggests that men get screwed in a divorce, there may be a good percentage (majority?) of men out there who truly deserve it for one reason or another.
