Your criticism of Fuente and the offense is absurd.

Fuente doesn't have the luxury to coach his offense to help his defense. Our offense is not nearly good enough or consistent enough to control the clock and still score enough points to win. We don't run the ball effectively enough and haven't for years. Fuente likely expected a shootout and so felt we needed to prioritize points over ball control.

The way the game played out also doesn't support your argument. We didn't stop them at any point in the game. They went right through us the first two drives of the game and after halftime, the parts of the game the defense was freshest.

If our defense was anywhere near where it has been in the past, I might somewhat agree with slowing things down. Unfortunately, our defense is terrible and GT was an especially bad matchup for them. Any offensive game plan that put points at risk for the sake of controlling the clock would have been idiotic. There are plenty of reasons to question the coaches this year but our offense moving too fast is not one of them.
