Fair but I would definitely trade a few losing seasons for a couple NCs

People can use anything to make themselves optimistic or pessimistic - personally I'm both with this team. I think we have young talent at LBs but I'm terrified of our DL and DB for the next few years. I think we have a decent OL, solid WRs, high potential QBs (if coaches would let them be winners vs. safe). I will always love Bud because he has proven himself time and time again. Fu and Corny have yet to prove themselves on Offense. Corny is one of the worst playcallers I've seen (think Stiney might be up in the box with him) and they cannot seem to make things click. I traditionally liked Fu but his handling of Willis is straight pissing me off (I don't know why he cannot give him confidence and let him go try to win games) and his time management leaves a lot to be desired.

I think we have huge potential if we can 1) replace Corny; 2) quickly recruit stud DL/DE; and 3) get more top-tier CBs that can stick at CB. But at the end of the day I would gladly trade positions with Nebraska, FSU, USC, Texas, etc to have years of national championships if it meant having a couple really off years (as long as the team fought hard). Having a team that constantly loses to teams it shouldn't and anyone in the top 25 is getting so very old, and frankly I'm okay if we break our bowl streak because I'm tired of people hanging their hat on that for defining success.
