None of my friends and family understand why I would choose to transition to a Hokie, most think it’s just a phase. I’ve tried telling them I was born with orange and maroon blood but they just think I need god. Them civlle folks arent known to be the most accepting people.

But being serious I shouldn’t joke about the acceptance of trans people by their family because it’s brutal. There are a lot of reasons why the suicide rate is over 40 % for trans folks but not being accepted by your family is a huge reason . I would be lying if I said I wasn’t apart of this statistic I had a really hard time accepting my self. Luckily my ex girlfriend found me on the floor, dragged my cute butt into her car while I was semi conscious, and got my stomach pumped at the hospital. Thank god for her because otherwise there would be one less Hokie girl in the world. Being trans is hard.. escpcially coming from a Christian family where you are raised to believe it is wrong.
