You may not like the call, but I saw several retired officials begrudgingly


state that, per the rule, the refs made the right call. I think everyone would agree that it's a terrible rule though. There was no malicious intent from Clay, unlike the hit on Rodgers from the Minnesota LB that spurred this rule. He purposely drove Rodgers into the ground. Matthews simply tackled Smith yesterday.
