Let me explain further.

Hooker threw for over 6k yds and 55 TD's in high school so he can throw the ball. He certainly can't pass if he's sitting on the bench. He threw for a 100 yards in the 2017 Spring game per the linked video and a couple of his throws looked sharp. He did throw a pic but you have to take risks to put points on the board. Hooker is a playmaker since he can run the length of the field ( 69yds vs W&M) while most people will pick up ten yards. A playmaker is anybody who can score from anywhere on the field.... think Michael Vick or Tyrod Taylor. Hooker's running ability will force defenses to creep up to try to cover him and that will open up the passing game.
Fuente is supposed to be a QB guru so he can possibly help Willis throw fewer pics. I thought Willis played better than JJ but I don't know if Hooker isn't a better option. I wouldn't mind seeing a two-headed monster at QB if both Hooker and Willis can keep the offense moving.
