I don't understand why it is such a mystery?

Hooker can't pass - it has been stated repeatedly that he struggles to pass in practice. TSL has consistently said this.

Quincy Patterson - is self-admittedly not ready. His experience in Chicago as a passer is limited. He clearly isnt ready despite any calls by fans to put him in.

Ryan Willis - he may diversify the passing game more but it has also been repeatedly reported that he is a high reward, high RISK passing QB who will pass to the defense more than Jackson will.

I don't get it. Whatever Jackson's faults are. it is NOT a mystery what the other QBs on the roster don't bring to the table. People want a playmaker. What is that? SOmeone who runs around? Passing the ball to a WR is being a play-maker. Now, I don't think Jackson is great and Wills may be fine. But it isn't a mystery why JJ is the starter. I don't get why people don't get it.
