I was behind an old Ford truck that hit one in Pungo VA.

The guy drove up the road about 50 yards and pulled over. The deer was left in the ditch. I pulled over beside him and asked him if he was okay. He was a high school boy and he said "I got it. Now I am going to go back and cook it up." So he was trying to hit the deer with his truck when it crossed the road if front of him. Thankfully the truck was okay. If his truck was damaged, it would have been an expensive piece of meat.
