I had a defective Electric Forced Air Furnace Strip (5 kW strip) that....


worked against the Central Air. The electric strip was shorted and ran all the time. I isolated it by shutting off individual breakers until the culprit appeared. Since it was a rental Town house, I had the HVAC guy disconnect the faulty 5 kW strip. Furnace still had two (2) 5 kW strips that were working. The shorted strip really ran up the electric bill.
