Tell me if this is logical or not, re: upgrading my car

I bought a new 2016 Mazda CX-5 in 2016 after my car accident. For the past six months, I've received at least an email a month from the dealer saying "Hey, used CX-5s are really in demand -- any chance you'd want to upgrade so we can sell your used car to someone else?" Mind you, my previous purchase before the CX-5 was a new 2003 Mazda Protege. So I like to hold onto my cars as long as they're running.

However, I posed a hypothetical to this latest salesperson who emailed. I said that if they can find a 2018 CX-5 that has all the same things my current car does (or more) -- and price it such that we essentially extend my payment schedule one extra year at the same amount or less -- then I'd consider it. I figure I'd be getting a car two years newer for just one extra year of payments.

Worth it? Or should I stick to my "hold onto the car til it don't run no more" plan? The current car is in good shape, no issues, only 18K miles, if that factors into your thought process.
