If you ever decide to get into roasting your own beans...


...might want to try Sumatran Peaberry beans. They are my current favorite.

Buy a burr grinder, an electric kettle, and a Chemex "pour over" system for the ultimate coffee experience (IMHO).

If you want a regular "drip" coffee maker, buy one with Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) certification. Most cheap coffee makers produce an inferior brew. Before it was basically limited to the Technivorm and Bonavita brewers, but others have now passed certification.

Last, but not least, I recommend a coffee Sensei like MEHOKIE. He can help guide you through the multiple hurdles to obtain coffee nirvana. Unfortunately I don't know if he's taking on any new students now...
