I believe you are confusing AFC Wimbledon with Wimbledon FC

Wimbledon FC relocated to Milton Keynes and became the MK Dons. AFC Wimbledon was created in 2002 as a result of Wimbledon FC's move to Milton Keynes.

As far as I know AFC Wimbledon has always played its home matches at Kingsmeadow (aka Cherry Red Records Stadium). Although it appears that AFC Wimbledon is building a new Plough Lane Stadium. FWIW Wimbledon FC played in the original Plough Lane Stadium until it relocated to Milton Keynes. The original stadium was turned into a housing development (Reynolds Gate) in 2008.
