You might consider a Maintenance Contract (Svc twice a year)....


It usually gives you a priority service position relative to non-contract holders.
If you have more than one system (upstairs & downstairs units), you might spend $200 to $300/yr.

Capacitors seem to be a frequent problem. If you have a coolant leak, your unit warranty might
cover some of it. Most times, the Evaporator Coil (at your air handler) will leak. They can be pricey to replace.
