as you wish but, the fact is match play favors 5 guys that can play and your single head to head example would have to replicate itself on the 3 of 5 occassions for multiple days in a row. The same advantage match play creates in a single head to head situation that could produce an upset works in the exact opposite manner in a team competition. As far as getting Vincent and DeJonge goes they were never a target of OSU. OSU has their pick of prospects because of the strength of their programs and VT finds players where they can, a similar situation to tennis, soccer, etc. where schools go overseas to get competitive talent when they are not normally in the running for top American talent. VT has good facilities, marginal weather at best, marginally respected coaching and is funded at levels below a program like OSU.
