You should listen to the whole album all the way through at least once.

It is easy to dismiss it based on a smattering of tracks. I will disagree that it is "a thing". The cast is brilliant. Every single singer holds their own and gets their time to shine. Leslie Odom Jr. (Burr) is a popular favorite and is amazing, but I think my personal favorite is Christopher Jackson (Washington). There are so many layers and so much depth to just the music. I listened to it probably 100 times before I finally saw the show in NYC this past February and I think I picked up on a little thing here or there every single listen. Seeing the show made me appreciate what Line Manuel was able to do even more. It is a masterpiece of big broadway musicals, and we'll be talking about Lin Manuel for decades.
