Before John Sung took over...

the program, Tech always recruited Maryland (Baltimore-DC) but most of those players were not top tier. Very seldom did Tech sign any 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd team players from Maryland. Our best recruits were "honorable mentions" at best. Tech has always recruited New Jersey and Upstate New York but has never had much success in Long Island. We've also recruited the Philadelphia-South Jersey area too. Two of our better players, McGinley and Petty, are both from New Jersey. Lacrosse is getting better nationwide, NOVA has more talent than most give it credit for, the Denver area, southern California, Boston area, and even places like Florida, Atlanta, Dallas, and Utah are producing quality talent now. Tech just needs to win the recruiting battles in Maryland, Long Island, and New Jersey that we've seldom won the past. I have confidence that John Sung will do that, but it may take another year or two.
