It's too bad the bottom of European Tour exemption categories don't
reshuffle based on performance during the year, like the PGA Tour does. SV's performance thus far in European Tour sanctioned events has shown he can compete and he deserves some more starts for the 2nd half of the year to try to earn full status on the European Tour for next season. But being at basically the bottom of the exemption list is going to severely limit his opportunities the rest of the way. Too much emphasis on one week and 6 rounds of golf (Q school) needed to break onto the Tour and not enough opportunities for your overall play (aside from straight-up winning) to earn your card. Each event should have 2 or 3 spots for the top 2 or 3 players on the points list not already exempt for the tournament. Not sure that would help SV personally, but at least it rewards players for what they've done to date.
There is only one more co-sanctioned event w/ the Asian Tour currently on the schedule, and he may sneak into one or two of the European/Challenge Tour joint events the rest of the way, but unless he wins one of those, he'll probably have to try his hand at Q school again in the fall.
