These are dependent events (not replacing the first tile). Probability of getting a red tile first could be 3 out of 5; when you don't replace it, there are only four tiles left, probability of getting a blue tile is 1 out of 4. 3/5 x 1/4 = 3/20. Could also be the opposite (3/4 x 1/5). Could also be any equivalent fractions, so possibilities are endless. That second sentence is confusing. Should just say "She did not replace the first tile," unless the teacher is cruel.

dolph, where is your child in school? I know this is a sixth grade SOL.
Also, I hate teaching Probability (and fractions in general).
