Virginia Tech added some local beef to its 2025 recruiting class, pulling a commitment from Christiansburg’s Carter Stallard.

Stallard, who attended nearly every Virginia Tech home game in 2023, committed while on a visit Monday. He had offers from a host of schools, including West Virginia, Pitt, Maryland, Louisville, Duke and Virginia.

He’s the No. 587 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and the No. 18 player in Virginia.

Stallard was a second-team Class 3 all-state selection after his junior season with the Blue Demons. He’s Tech’s first scholarship commitment from Christiansburg High since quarterback Brenden Motley in the 2012 class.

He’s the second commitment in the Hokies’ 2025 group, joining Texas quarterback Kelden Ryan.

  1. Great to snag him right in our own back yard!! Maybe those guys from Salem & Roanoke going elsewhere eventually transfer back.

  2. That’s definitely recruiting your footprint! A huge “get” for Coach Pry and staff!!!

  3. That young man has quite the physique…and the cultural connection. I can see only good — and getting better — things ahead !!
