The ACC released its 2023-24 preseason media poll on Thursday and Virginia Tech was picked to finish eighth in the 15-team league.
Here’s the full poll, with point totals for each team:
The Hokies return Sean Pedulla and Hunter Cattoor from last year’s NIT squad and added Robbie Beran from Northwestern, who should provide a boost in the frontcourt. Mekhi Long (Old Dominion) and Tyler Nickel (North Carolina) will also play key roles. Lynn Kidd is also back and expected to play alongside Beran while MJ Collins will step in on the wing next to Pedulla and Cattoor.
Tech finished 11th last season after being picked seventh after dealing with injuries and other absences for much of the year.

The first line reads “2022-23” season. Should be 2023-24. That is all.
Tough league this year. Can’t say I disagree with the prediction for VT but sure hope we finish higher than 8th.
Right, 8th probably won’t get us an NCAA bid.
Looking at the voting 6th thru 9th are about equal. You can group these 1 to 3 about the same, then 4 and 5, followed by 6 to 9, 10 & 11, 12 by itself and 13 to 15. The team needs to try and break out of the 6-9 and hit the 4-5 group. And then run the table in the ACC tourney with a bye.
GO HOKIES!!
