
For many years, as UVa football was sliding into the abyss under Mike London, Chris Coleman and I used to sit around the TSL office and talk about how difficult it must be for the staff at TheSabre.com to continue to write articles about a program that was falling off a cliff.
My guess is that it felt something like this.
That’s a little melodramatic, but this season is already a slog. As Andy Bitter pointed out in this week’s Five Thoughts, a loss to Marshall in the next game will leave the Hokies with the real possibility of a 1-5 start.
That would bring Brent Pry’s overall record to 4-13. We’ll see if that happens. For some perspective, as bad a fit as Mike London was at Virginia, I can only find one 17-game stretch where he went 4-13: the last two games of 2012 (0-2), all of 2013 (2-10), and the first three games of 2014 (2-1).
