Yesterday, we examined Virginia Tech’s current 2018 haul on the offensive end. Today, we’ll tackle the defensive side of the ball. Of Virginia Tech’s 17 current commitments, 10 of them are slated to play on defense, so there’s plenty to talk about.

Defensive End

Commitments — Eli Adams

Remaining targets — KJ Henry, Derrick Eason

Eli Adams committed to Virginia Tech on June 10 while on an unofficial visit. The 5-foot-11, 231-pound prospect out of Rock Hill, S.C. holds just a few Power 5 offers, including Maryland, NC State and South Carolina.

Adams is very undersized, but his film shows that he can still make plays. With Adams and the large haul of defensive ends in last year’s class, the Hokies could sit tight here and be fine.

However, I’ve been told that Virginia Tech wants to take one more defensive end. If that’s truly the case, it makes Derrick Eason a real target. If Tech isn’t set on taking one more end, they’ll likely continue to focus solely on KJ Henry.
