Jacked: I get to see Gate City's Mac McClung vs. Radford HS Friday night.

Gate City and the Radford Bobcats are set to meet in the state Group 2A quarterfinals Friday night at Radford University's Dedmon Center. I think they should have put the game in Cassell (assuming it's available), because Dedmon isn't big enough for this matchup.

Mac McClung is a viral sensation and a great athlete, but Radford is no slouch themselves, with a 27-0 record and their sights set on yet another state championship, this one at the 2A level after winning a bunch at the 1A level.

Radford's got one of the better players in the state, junior point guard Quinton Morton-Robertson. I remember seeing Q playing as a 5th-grader with the 8th-grade AAU team, a tiny little guy with great moves. He scored 30 against Martinsville in the last game, including 4 triples and 8-9 from the free throw line. Before you get any ideas, Quinton is very good, but he's also very small (listed at 5-6, and I'm not sure how much of that is his 'fro), so not an ACC player.

Radford's also got a player named P.J. Prioleau, and yes, he's Pierson's son.

I was able to score a ticket to the game Friday night, and I'm looking forward to it. It should be a great one in a long line of great Radford basketball games throughout the years. I've seen Mac McClung highlights on Twitter (who hasn't?), but I'm looking forward to seeing him play for 32 minutes.
