Agree with your assessment of Trae Young having potential but the fact

remains that as a team OU does not match the caliber of play of other tournament eligible teams and has not produced results over the entire season to warrant their current status. If you are looking to reward Trae on the merits of his potential and scoring opportunities then give him individual honors (i.e. Player of the Year) but not reward the entire team because they happened to land a recruit with some upside. I get it; glitter and flash sells tickets but the NCAA Tournament is about rewarding teams for their results and should not be based on their potential to provide highlights of individual players. Dominique Wilkins could really put on a show but didn't have the supporting cast to bring home the bacon.
As for teams not wanting to face OU in March, I think we have seen what happens when teams focus on stopping Trae and disregarding the rest of the team. There isn't enough of a sporting cast around him to adjust that method. Until he carries the entire team despite their lack of support then OU, as a team, is going to come up short. He may well be a lottery pick but that's not what the college game should be about.
