Agreed it depends on how good he is, just trying to show his mindset


He's exceedingly young for a DT, 20 is 2-3 years younger than most guys and he doesn't have an injury history. In his interviews he said he wants to play for 10 years or more, so starting earlier definitely benefits him on that front.

As a VT fan, I care way more about how he performs than where he's drafted for recruiting and visibility purposes. If Settle were to go top 10 and flame out vs going 3rd round and being a borderline pro-bowler I'd take the second scenario all the time. Its like comparing the bumps (Hunter and others have cited Kam) we've seen from Chancellor being a monster and a late round draft pick to Kyle Fuller going in the 1st round but not playing great.
