Seton Hall has no sub-300 RPI games. The math will work out that they have

a better RPI. People on here need to understand that the RPI does not look at the name of the team playing, nor the quality of that opponent as related to the eye test. It is purely mathematics based on your schedule and nothing else. What the NCAA has finally done, is realized that it's not the singular tool for putting teams in the tournament. Basically, the RPI is a monkey wrench that the NCAA was using to tighten screws of all sizes with. It works, and can get the job done, most of the time, but an allen wrench works better for hex inserts, and a phillips head works better for phillips head screws.

It's a rudimentary calculation to try and come up with a systematic ranking that doesn't have to track possessions, pace of play or any of that. It's not exact, nor does it give a definitive ranking of each team. It's a relative ranking, that at the end of the season works as it is intended.
