One time investment for Dish Network equipment (receiver, box, cables, etc) which I bought used off of Ebay. A bit older equipment but it works fine.

Dish Network has a Pay As You Go plan where you pay only for the months you want and then just don't pay the next bill and it shuts off. When I want to reinstate the service next fall, I just make a payment and service comes back on.

Bought a new small generator to power everything.
