I don't want to over analyze with numbers, but...
We had 42 Points in the Paint, and gave up only 34. Even with giving up 18 points to a guy that's 7'4''. We had 20 defensive rebounds, and I think Buzz said in post game that we only gave up 1 offensive rebound to FSU in the first half.
With all respect, we have a different team with a number of very good options in the final minutes. Buzz is teaching team offense. However, the leadership seems to be a vocal leadership in the team huddles, as Buzz says that the players were all saying the right things during the huddles.
I don't know how much the team can do to demonstrate "driving to the basket" when you see J Rob and Chris Clarke constantly taking on the bigs for the other team. What more can they do to be "pulling down tough rebounds" ? It is frustrating to play such good team defense, let them take a tough shot, only to have them get an offensive rebound. But that's a by product of the type of defensive pressure we're bringing on the ball.
Look at Buzz's recruits over time, whether here or at Marquette. It is a great disservice to Buzz to think that he recruits people that only go through the motions. And don't lose the fact that "transfers" that came in to play for Buzz should be credited to Buzz as well.
He recruits tough, versatile players that are willing to play his way.
