The crowd - I have suggestions though!

Create a program where Season Ticket holders can select games they won't be attending and allow VT to resell those tickets. Any money gained on the resale is added to your contribution amount.

Make out of conference General Admission and slash the price. Obviously you would need to increase the ACC game cost to offset. There is already a difference in price but I would make it more drastic. Making the out of conference games general admission allows the school to tarp off higher areas and force people closer to the court if need be. Also the cheap tickets should help get locals to the game.

Using this season as an example there were 3 season ticket pricing tiers, $199, $360, $495 depending on where you sat.

I'd change tickets so that the crappy out of conference games were $5 general admission and were sold as such for season ticket purposes. You still get a ticket as part of your season ticket you just don't get your seat choice.

For this year I would have charged $10 general admission for Iowa and Radford, Iowa for being a power 5 school and Radford since they are local and you can expect a few extra fans so lets make a bit more money.

For PItt and UVA I'd have charged 10-25-35 across the pricing tiers. These games get a slight discount due to students being gone and wanting to get more butts in seats.

For ACC Play I would charge 15-31-50 across the tiers with the exceptions being the UNC and Duke games. Those 2 games would get prices of 25-50-60.

With those pricing changes the 3 tiers season tickets would be $200-$360-$495. So the only one that changed was the cheapest season ticket going up $1.

I think this would make it easier to sell tickets to bad games without decreasing revenue from season tickets while the general admission model for the out of conference games would allow more of the crowd to move closer to the court and improve atmosphere. I'd rather have 5000 people all sitting in the new seats with the old seats covered then do it the way we currently are.
