I don't think Hill has been our best player

He does not do much more than shoot 3s. the main way he scores in ways other than shooting 3s is if he scores in transition. He is averaging 4 rebounds a game so I would not highlight games that he might have gotten a bunch because averaging 4 means in other games he didn't get much at all (and in this day and age of people not getting offensive rebounds, it is not hard to get defensive rebounds. I AM NOT saying he is bad. I would just not paint him as our best player. He is our best or better 3-pt shooters. That is primarily it. He isn't a shut down defender.

Robinson makes this team go. We have no one else who will do that. Bibbs is afraid to bring the ball up under pressure. The other PGs don't run the team well. Robinson is good for 1-2 turnovers to start every game as he adjusts to the situations and speed of the game. He needs to finish more in traffic or pass it out.

Bibbs isn't inconsistent in terms of shooting percentage. People will point to games in which he doesn't score alot. But Basketball, like other sports is often a game of math. Case in point, against KY, Blackshear got the ball alot and scored alot. That automatically means that everyone else isn't going to score during that stretch. Not Hill, not Bibbs, not Clarke. So the more someone else shoots, the less others do. I don't think of Bibbs as a big guy who will or should have big rebounding numbers normally. He is a shooting guard. Hill might play that spot but Bibbs is a shooting guard.

NAW - The one thing we need to stop doing is using games against cupcake teams to start the season as ANY measuring stick of how a player or team' season will go. we have seen countless examples of players - freshman or other wise - go off against teams that VT (or other schools) will beat by 40. It means little. So how players do against better teams, against bigger teams, better athetes, etc. tell the tale more. Nothing in the first 2-3 games should have been a predictor for NAW's season. Lately he needs to stop forcing drives into traffic. Turnovers....

Clarke - the other important guy who does a lot of the things that Hill and Bibbs don't do. He rebounds in traffic. He pushes the ball better on fast breaks. Bibbs and Hill are about receiving passes more so. Clarke is about driving the ball in transition and getting it to people. I THINK he could get more offensive rebounds just by trying. I say this because he is often just standing there or drifting to a spot when shots go up. He is not getting in transition so that is not an excuse. If you are just hanging out, it is possible to rebound. He could score 15 points, 10+ rebounds and 5-10 assists when healthy and playing even more.

Blackshear - needs to avoid foul trouble. That is pretty much it.

Bede/Jackson - see comment about NAW. Early season success and early season playing time meant nothing. It didn't mean we had depth at the PG spot. It didn't mean Buzz would trust them. It meant little. The future is bright. But right now neither are going to be consistent or trusted by Buzz in meaningful moments in meaningful games.

Wilson - is an ok defender. He is good. He is not great. None of our players are great defenders. We give up dribble penetration. We don't help well or we over help. Wilson is a good defender as for the most part he keeps people in front but if someone is going t o drive, he isn't stopping them. The positive spot on him. He is looking to score more.
