Most of these directional schools are very ambiguous. But down here the Florida Atlantic school is making great strides and at least academically have set themselves Head and Shoulders above many of the other schools down here. Their academics have really past the point to where they are really aggressive in the recruiting. My son was accepted at Virginia Tech and FAU in the engineering program and I wanted him to go to Virginia Tech but he chose FAU. Granted, I am in the medical field and my degree from Tech was not MediCal or engineering-based but I really wanted him to go to Tech but he did what was best for him. After having experience with that University I am very pleased in his decision. He is considering an oceanographic engineering Masters. FIU is like the University of Phoenix on campus for Florida, LOL.
