Put yourself in Auburn’s shoes. You just lost a game that cost you the playoffs. And as a consolation prize, you get to go back to the exact same location less than a month later to play a team with no name recognition. A team that will be playing with a chip on their shoulder and wanting to prove the playoff committee was wrong for slighting them. And if bowl games have taught us anything, the team that is more excited about being there usually has an advantage (And if OK State’s fan base reaction is indicative about how their players feel about playing VT in a bowl game, that bodes well for us).
