Knee Jerk ACC/NY6 Bowl Thoughts

So the bowl season is here. We have what is probably our most exciting bowl destination since the 2011 season against Michigan in the Sugar Bowl. I'll probably do another round of predictions, but here are my knee-jerk thoughts.

Playoffs:
Rose Bowl: Georgia 35 Oklahoma 24: Georgia may have been playing the best football throughout the year, short of one game in Jordan-Hare. Oklahoma is pretty good too though. I see UGA getting the clinching TD late.

Sugar Bowl: Clemson 28 Alabama 14: In the third playoff installment of Tigers vs Tide, the Tigers leave no doubt.

Natty: Georgia 31 Clemson 21: Clemson struggles to get consistent offense going and the Dawgs finally get their national championship.

Other NY6 Games:
Cotton Bowl: USC 30 Ohio State 20
Fiesta Bowl: Penn State 38 Washington 14
Orange Bowl: Miami 41 Wisconsin 21
Peach Bowl: UCF 27 Auburn 24

ACC Bowls:
Citrus: Notre Dame 34 LSU 17
TaxSlayer: Louisville 24 Mississippi State 21
Sun: NC State 27 Arizona State 14
Belk: Texas A&M 33 Wake Forest 31
Pinstripe: Iowa 31 Boston College 7
Military: Navy 42 Virginia 21
Independence: Florida State 23 Southern Miss 3
Quick Lane: Duke 27 NIU 10

And finally......
Oklahoma State 34 Virginia Tech 23: Bud Foster's defense will keep the Pokes in check to a degree. But there's only so much he can do against that offense (especially with a depleted defensive backfield). The offense will be a bit healthier for this game and will have one of its best games since October. But it won't be enough to outscore OK State.

That will put the ACC 6-5 in bowls overall. But random things do tend to happen in bowls. I'm excited to see the Hokies in a pretty good bowl though. We played in this bowl 6 years ago... but the profile and the opponent is considerably upgraded.
