Best Case Scenario - Hooker Beats Out JJ Next Season ...

... and is too good to keep on the bench.

As well as JJ has played and he's been outstanding, his primary merits have been as an effective game manager and good with ball-security. (Note this is what the coaches said they wanted, and for the most part, they've gotten it.)

That said, he hasn't exactly flashed any 'big-play' potential with his legs and seems (to me) to be a 1/2 count late in delivering the ball on deep throws. Our slow starts this season and intermittent inconsistency is at least partially on him.

It will be interesting to see how JJ plays down the stretch, particularly against the Miami D ... perhaps only second top-shelf unit we'll face all year.

Next spring ... If H2 could equal JJ on ball-security and add the big-play ability with his legs, maybe he starts or at least gets a shot next year. It would certainly be counter-intuitive and a rather radical coaching move ... but might be what it will take for us to compete with the athletes that Clemson puts on the field.
