Sure the D gave up some yards but

only holding them 24 points is pretty great in my opinion. The punt team really did the job they needed to do keeping WVU from getting good field position and causing them to have a long field to work with. Obviously its hard to gauge much from one week of play and future offensive numbers from WVU are going to be skewed a little because of playing in the Big 12 but I have a feeling that WVU Offense is going to put up some big numbers on some good teams. WVU got in 89 plays so that obviously assisted them in putting up those gaudy offensive stats. The first half when the VT offense was finding itself really put the defense behind the 8 ball in a "time on the field perspective" and i really think that showed up toward the end but all in all i feel like it was a decent performance from the D. WVU came in a with a good game plan to get the ball out of the QBs hands quick because they knew Tech had the potential to get some pressure on the QB. Those underneath routes they were continually picking up 1st downs on were the thing that frustrated me the most but those came from some good game planning from WVU. Holgorsen for all the on field (and off field for that matter) antics is on heck of a offensive mind.
