For those that missed, Conner McGregor came out like a Tiger. He was faster, more aggressive, and took advantage of his longer reach to dominate the first five rounds.

But Floyd Mayweather kept his composure, absorbing McGregor hits and plotting an opening to make his move. Between the Fifth and Sixth round, McGregor looks visibly tired from his frantic pace, while Mayweather is standing like a stone wall. Through the seventh through ninth round, Mayweather starts delivering hits on McGregor, until finally in the tenth round, he overwhelms the Irishman.

Great night, great fight. I just can't but help think it will be a similar storyline on 9/3 at FedEx field. A similar flow played out at the 2016 Belk Bowl.

I see West Virginia coming out like a bunch of rabid hillbillies that haven't seen their cousins in a month. The 'eer defense will come out full force against JJ and Tech's young receiver corps. Will Grier will try to reignite his college career against a juiced capacity crowd in FedEx Field.

But like Mayweather, Fuente and Foster will absorb the initial blows and plot for their openings. I expect we'll see a plain straight offense that first half, trying to establish the run with T-Mac, and getting a few passes downfield.

Then, second half, Fuente will unleash the whoop-ass. Bud's defense will shut down whatever offense the hillbillies have been able to muster and Fuente will open the playbook and show what the next generation of Hokies football greats can do.
