Phil was the valedictorian at Radford High in 1983, so he was a smart dude.

Phil came into Tech in Engineering and spent one quarter in it before transferring into Political Science. He got a 3.3 in that first/only quarter of Engineering, but he said the demands of playing basketball and taking Engineering classes were simply too much.

He graduated in Poli Sci, went to work in Probation and Parole, for Roanoke County I think, (he once processed Pee Wee Barbour, former FSU point guard who wound up in prison), and . retired last year. At the age of 52. Sometimes I think I'm in the wrong line of work.
