The academic standards line posited by so many worries me. It sounds very UVA, UNCish (snobby). Besides that argument was shot when Louisville was allowed in to the conference. I have been to 3 VT/WVU games dressed in Hokie gear and never had any issues. If you happen to sit near the student section you may not be treated the way you would like, but that is what happens when you are near drunk 20 year olds. Not to burst any bubbles, but I have had friends from other schools share some disturbing stories as to how they were treated by our student section. I miss the rivalry and the games were usually fun to watch.
