I don't think anybody really knows at this point. Its just not possible

On the defensive side we know this team will be good, very good in fact, from day one. What we don't know is how it will be on Nov 1. Thats a function of the injury bug. If the injury bug hits us at DT things could go down hill quickly in particular.

On the offensive side, particularly at WR, we have no idea what we have because the injury bug basically assured that all the guys expected to "take the next step" didn't get to play much this spring. And those that did play (particularly at WR) were not very impressive. (Hey - the guys that weren't injured, aren't supposed to be impressive yet, so thats OK)

Now if you want to say WVU is better than the VT team that suited up for the Spring game, then sure. Thats obviously the case. But if we are comparing WVU to the team we think will suit up, then its about as clear as mud on the offensive side. I don't think the coaches are even really sure. Kumah and Patterson were beasts in the off season program. And both get dinged and don't get the reps they both needed in the spring. Maybe one or both would have blown up this spring, maybe not. Literally nobody knows.

The OL is going to be functionally quite similar to last year.

The QB situation is also a huge wild card.

We have JJ who is a bit more dependent on having something to work with at WR than the other two. So judging his performance is difficult because every WR that was projected to play meaningful minutes was injured at some point.

Then we have Bush and Hooker who both are new to everything about this system and whose heads are swimming for most of spring.

So what do we have at QB? Once again nobody really knows.

Given the unknowns its easy to look at the knowns (what we lost) and assume it can't be replaced. We know we lost some serious tough yards rushing from Evans. We know we lost some great receiving yards from Ford and Hodges. But that doesn't mean those yards can't or won't be replaced by someone else. It just means there is great uncertainty at the moment.
