EVERYBODY loses those types of games. however, over a 25 year period, Beamer's teams did so FAR less than practically anyone else.

The reason we would lose the bigtime games was because we weren't as good as those teams, but we freaking cleaned house against the Pitts, WVUs, GTs, UNCs, Marylands, NC States, and even Clemsons when they were down. We wiped the floor with the mediocre variety of Hurricane teams too. You don't have the 4th or 5th best record over a 15 year period by choking to a lot of inferior competition. Yes, we lost some games, but we tended to win about 80% of the time. they only teams that we rarely beat were top 5 type squads.
