it does raise questions about Wellman's role in keeping VT out of the tournament. Even though the perception on the board is Wellman was the mastermind, it is possible that someone else may have been the mastermind or at least got the ball rolling against Seth and/or VT and Wellman just ran with it. At the very least it shows that multiple people may have had non-basketball reasons for keeping VT out of the tournament and may have even worked together out of mutual interest.
