I like bashing Hoos as much as the next guy, but what's the big deal?


It's a very relevant topic and quite a few prestigious universities offer similar programs. Tech offers a lot of the same courses, in fact.

It's always important to study cultural shifts in opinion, develop historical experts on certain topics and create more understanding across various groups of society. That's what a program like this does.

A sampling of courses I took for my Sociology minor at Tech:
* Dating, Marriage and Divorce
* Minority Group Relations
* Sociology of Aging
* Deviant Behaviors

They sound like a joke right? Well, I don't do anything related to sociology now, but I benefited from classes that offered different perspectives on cultural issues. Apparently some of you could benefit from a few of these classes.

Maybe your post was a joke, but I don't really think we want to get into a pissing match over academics between the two universities
