VT hosed a large contributor base many of which are making the same decision you are making. There are some cases where the athletic fund is losing the endowment because donors have asked their scholarship pledge to be reassigned out of athletics.
Last point- knowing may folks in the Financial Planning field I know of a handful of Wills that are being changed away from VT athletics.
